Catholics thank God for letting us “keep God’s Word” (John 14:23). Can we prove that? Yes! Catholics “keep” The Book of Wisdom in our Bible. That blessing helps us cure the “Confusion Headaches” that keep many from understanding that our souls will live forever! Wisdom 2:23-3:9 makes that clear: “God formed man to be imperishable; in the image of His own nature He made them.”
Today’s Reading cures countless “Confusion Headaches” by letting us know where they come from: “But, by the envy of the devil, death entered the world and they who are in his possession experience it.”
Readers of The Catholic Bible are blessed by knowing: “But the souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them.”
“Foolish” people think we are dead! “They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace. (Only Catholics see that the souls of faithful Catholics are not merely “at peace”, but “in peace”!) Rarely does the Old Testament make such a perfect Prophecy of Catholic thinking based on loving God and our neighbor as ourselves.
Catholics know life is not easy! “For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality; Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of Himself. As gold in the furnace, He proved them, and as sacrificial offerings, He took them to Himself.”
The Structure of The Catholic Church and our shining souls on earth and in Heaven is predicted: “In the time of their visitation they shall shine, and shall dart about as sparks through stubble. They shall judge nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord shall be their King forever. Those who trust in Him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall abide with Him in love: Because grace and mercy are with His holy ones, and His care is with His elect.”
What more does anyone need to know to Be Catholic and forever among those described in John 14:23? “Whoever loves Me will keep My Word and My Father will love Him and we will come to Him.”
The fact that Catholics “keep” The Book of Wisdom in our Bible gives us all the proof we need that Catholics “keep” His Words and that God “will come to us”!
