Today’s Reading from 1 Kings 2:1-4, 10-12 begins with a simple Prophecy:
First Prophesy, “When the time of David’s death drew near, he gave these instructions to his son, Solomon: ‘I am going the way of all flesh.'”
Second, a Prophecy about how every son facing a Goliath should live: “Take courage and be a man.”
Third, David shared with Solomon, and the world, God’s Prophesy of Success: “Keep the mandate of the LORD, our God, following His ways and observing His statutes, commands, ordinances, and decrees as they are written in the law of Moses that you may succeed in whatever you do, wherever you turn…”
Fourth, David shared another Prophecy: “… and the LORD may fulfill the promise He made on my behalf when He said, ‘If your sons so conduct themselves that they remain faithful to Me with their whole heart and with their whole soul, you shall always have someone of your line on the throne of Israel.'”
That Prophesy came true:
Fifth, the sons of David continued to rule Israel. Overcoming opposition from those who loved God more than themselves, “Solomon was seated on the throne of his father, David, with his sovereignty firmly established.”
Sixth, a thousand years later, more than 300 of God’s Prophesies came true with the Birth of Jesus, Son of God and David (Isaiah 7:14), in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2).
Seventh, with Jesus, the whole world could accept the Sovereignty of God and obey His Prophesy of Salvation that forever separates those blessed to be in God’s beloved flocks of sheep from self-centered goats: “Love God and love your neighbors as yourself.”
Eighth, Catholics are blessed to follow He Who rules from David’s Throne. Mark 1:15 shares this Prophesy with every person on earth: “The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel”.
Ninth, for 2,000 years, those who followed He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies have been blessed to live by Teachings from The Only Church Spoken Into Being by The Son of God and David with His Prophesy!
Tenth, “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Today’s Simple Rhyme: “Catholics are blessed to see / and live within God’s Prophesies.”
