45,000 Marketing Plan Denominations compete with each other for donors.  They seek those who leave The Only Church Jesus Founded.  Protestantism’s allure?

“My church needs more members!  Millions of lapsed Catholics don’t want to be bothered with annulments, children, or someone telling them what to do.  They were raised to respect clergy, and my church could always use more respectful donors!”

They ask Marketing and Advertising experts:  “How we can attract lapsed Catholics?”

“Our surveys show that most leave The Catholic Church because they want to feel important and in charge.  They want to make decisions!  They don’t want to follow orders!  They’re too good for that!  They dislike being told what’s right and wrong and what they are supposed to do!”

“Do they think The Church is too structured?”

“Yep!  And, out of touch.  Some of them can be made to feel that women, minorities, and gays are marginalized and they have a duty to ‘Take A Stand For Equal Rights’!”

“You’re kidding!  The Church is mostly women and minorities.”

“Reality means nothing to them!   Many worry more about The Environment and Climate Change than saving their own souls!”

“That’s silly.  The environment is cleaner than ever,  and there has been no Climate Change!”

“You already forgot:  they don’t care about reality.  They just want to feel important!  They want to feel ‘involved’!  They want to be perceived as ‘concerned and caring’!”

“If they’re that shallow, how long will they stay with us?”

“They’ll stay until someone makes them feel more ‘important’, ‘useful’, ‘concerned’, ‘caring’ and ‘vital’  Don’t forget ‘vital’!”

“You make it sound like those who leave The Church are mostly just vain, shallow, people?”

“You got it, Pastor Bob!   That is just what our research shows.  They’re looking for excusws to do what they want to do, be told how bright and brave they are, and be given assurance that they’re going to Heaven!”

“I can do that!”
