Rating our soul is God’s job. We can make some comparisons of how our own souls will be judged with the way we, who are made in the Judge’s image, quantify things with which we’re familiar.

Most light bulbs have a rating. Some are five watts. Others are rated at 10 watts. Huge searchlights designed to illuminate airplanes high above the earth may rated at several thousand watts. Light bulbs in lighthouses are similarly boggling in their output.

Humans with the brightest souls can sense the influence of demons trying to destroy souls. They can also emit enough light to let others avoid the sin they illuminate. At Judgment, it’s better to be a five watt bulb that gave out steady light that reduced stumbling and falling than be judged to be a brightly flashing star that attracted weaker and simpler souls to their own destruction.
