Easter Sunday: Solemnity of the Resurrection of The Lord
The Mass of Easter Day

Reading 1

Acts 10:34a, 37-43

Peter proceeded to speak and said:
“You know what has happened all over Judea,
beginning in Galilee after the baptism
that John preached,
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Spirit and power.
He went about doing good
and healing all those oppressed by the devil,
for God was with him.
We are witnesses of all that he did
both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem.
They put him to death by hanging him on a tree.
This man God raised on the third day and granted that he be visible,
not to all the people, but to us,
the witnesses chosen by God in advance,
who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
He commissioned us to preach to the people
and testify that he is the one appointed by God
as judge of the living and the dead.
To him all the prophets bear witness,
that everyone who believes in him
will receive forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Ps 118:1-2, 16-17, 22-23Responsorial Psalm

R. (24) This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
for his mercy endures forever.
Let the house of Israel say,
“His mercy endures forever.”

R. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.

“The right hand of the LORD has struck with power;
the right hand of the LORD is exalted.
I shall not die, but live,
and declare the works of the LORD.”

R. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.

The stone which the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
By the LORD has this been done;
it is wonderful in our eyes.

R. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.

I Cor 5:6b-8

Brothers and sisters:
Do you not know that a little yeast leavens all the dough?
Clear out the old yeast,
so that you may become a fresh batch of dough,
inasmuch as you are unleavened.
For our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed.
Therefore, let us celebrate the feast,
not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness,
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Jn 20:1-9Gospel

On the first day of the week,
Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning,
while it was still dark,
and saw the stone removed from the tomb.
So she ran and went to Simon Peter
and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them,
“They have taken the Lord from the tomb,
and we don’t know where they put him.”
So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb.
They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter
and arrived at the tomb first;
he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.
When Simon Peter arrived after him,
he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there,
and the cloth that had covered his head,
not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place.
Then the other disciple also went in,
the one who had arrived at the tomb first,
and he saw and believed.
For they did not yet understand the Scripture
that he had to rise from the dead.

Catholic Fundamentalism Interpretation:

Peter proceeded to say:  "You know what happened all over Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John told us about, how The Loving Programmer gave Jesus of Nazareth the power to alter earthly programs, erase their errors, and re-write human programs and download those perfections within them.  He went about restoring human programs and erasing errors in spiritual, mental, and physical parts of local people programs.  He healed those whose programs had been filled with errors by the father of errors because The Loving Programmer was with Him.

We saw what He did, both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem (itself).  They tried to erase His Program by nailing Him on (something made from) a tree.  On the third day, The Loving Programmer restored His Program that He might return to earth, alive and seen, not to everyone, but to we who’d been given access to see Him (The Program in perfect, obedient, Human Form).  We were witnesses The Loving Programmer had programmed and selected previously, who ate and drank with Him after His Program was restored, letting Him return.  He gave us the job of letting people know that He is The One programmed by The Loving Programmer as a judge of the living and dead human programs.  All the prophets told the ages He was coming, that all who believe in Him will have the errors erased from their individual program and be forgiven through the Power of His Name."

This is the day (time) that The Loving Programmer has written and downloaded within The Creation Program.  Let us rejoice and be glad to be part of His Program!

Give thanks to The Loving Programmer, for He is without error and His ability to forgive us for our own errors goes on forever.  Let those who believe in Him say, "His mercy endures forever."

This is the day (time) that The Loving Programmer has written and downloaded within The Creation Program.   Let us rejoice and be glad to be part of His Program!

"The Living Program has been downloaded with all His power among us!  He is exalted! I will live forever, describing His Program."

This is the day (time) that The Loving Programmer has written and downloaded within The Creation Program.   Let us rejoice and be glad to be part of His Program!

The Program that the human sub-programmers rejected is now seen to be the Source Code!  The Loving Programmer made it happen, and we (have been chosen to) see that it’s wonderful!

This is the day (time) that The Loving Programmer has written and downloaded within The Creation Program.   Let us rejoice and be glad to be part of His Program!

Brothers and sisters, a little downloading of the purifying Source Code will purify the entire program.

Clear out all of your old programs, they just aren’t any good, any more, and become a fresh, new program, (filled with joy and truth).

For the final sacrifice, The Living Program, has been made.  Therefore, let us celebrate the feast.  Not with the old, stale program, full of evil, malevolent errors that have corrupted it, but with The Living Program, sincerity and truth.

On the first day of The New Program’s restoration, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb before the sun rose.

She saw that the stone had been removed (its program erased, or simply rolled away?) from the tomb.

So, she ran to Simon Peter, the leader of the disciples.  "They have taken the Living Program from the tomb!"  So, Peter and John ran to the tomb.  John ran the faster, and got there first.  He saw the burial cloths.  But, since Peter was in charge, he waited for him, and Peter went right in.

He saw the burial cloths, and the cloth that had covered His head,

not with the burial cloths, but rolled up in a separate place.

Then, John, who’d arrived first, went in, too.  And, he saw and believed.

Because they didn’t yet understand what The First Programming Log had told them, that He had to rise from the dead.
