St. John gives ANOTHER reason to be Catholic!

St. John helps us understand! Jesus gave the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven” to one person and One Church on earth.

Question 1: “Why is 1 John 5:14-21 important?”

Answer: “First, it tells us to pray! ‘Beloved: We have this confidence in Him that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.’

Question 2: “What good does it do when He ‘hears’ our prayers and doesn’t answer them?”

Answer: “St. John promises that God does answer! ‘And if we know that He hears us in regard to whatever we ask, we know that what we have asked Him for is ours.’

~

Question 3: “We are sinners! Will God answer our prayers?”

Answer: “St. John tells us! ‘If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and He will give him life.’

~

Question 4: “Will God forgive every sin?”

Answer: “No! Only sins that are ‘not deadly’ may be forgiven. ‘This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that is not deadly.’”

Question 5: “What is that ‘deadly sin’?

Answer: “Willfully attacking The Perfect Divinity of The Holy Trinity.”

Question 6: “Who can be saved from sin?”

Answer: “St. John tells us! ‘We know that anyone begotten by God does not sin; but the one begotten by God He protects, and the Evil One cannot touch him. We know that we belong to God, and the whole world is under the power of the Evil One.’

Question 7: “That is frightening! ‘The whole world is under the power of the Evil One’?”

Answer: “That’s life on earth! Jesus Christ told us how to escape ‘the power of the Evil One’!”

Question 8: “How do we escape that evil ‘power’ and get our souls into Heaven?”

Answer: “By knowing and obeying Jesus. ‘We also know that the Son of God has come and has given us discernment to know The One Who Is True. And we are in The One Who is True, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.’

Question 9: “Is there a short Teaching that will help us bring our to God and Heaven?”

Answer: “St. John gives us Seven Words to guide us to His Church and ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’! ‘Children, be on your guard against idols.’

Question 10: “What is an ‘idol’?”

Answer: “An ‘idol’ is any thought or temptation that keeps us from obeying This Word of Jesus Christ: ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’
