The biggest inequality of all?

Many perpetual critics focus on the evil of inequality.  Making people believe that inequality is serious is given credibility by its theological basis.

The greatest inequality of all is the treatment of souls in the afterlife.  One group of souls suffers varying degrees of agony forever.  The saved souls know the greatest possible joy for eternity.  A sense of proportion has never been a characteristic of those lost in earthly concerns.

So, inequality on earth is what bothers the “Inequality Warriors”.

There are various kinds of inequality.  Some are taller, some are smarter, some are healthier, some are faster, some are balder, some are more beautiful, some are more coordinated.  No matter what human quality is mentioned, all humans are unequal in every conceivable way.

“That’s not what I meant!”, the “Inequality Warriors” announce, often with some asperity.  “What I mean is that some people have more than others.  Some people have private jets.  Other people don’t even own a car.”

When they’re asked, “Would you care as much if you had a private jet?”,  they say “Yes!”, but we all know better than to believe them.  We are all bright enough to know tht those who complain about economic unfairness are actually unhappy because they aren’t richer and see no way to become so.

Some complain that 20% of the people own 80% of the assets.  Whenthe process of issuing mortgages was jiggered to let the “oppressed 80%” buy houses they couldn’t afford, the economy collapsed.  We may learn from such failures that the economic manifestation of the “80-20 Rule” might be a good thing.

When we consider that a very large number of the “oppressed 80%” had, and lost, lots of opportunities, often through their own sloth or greed, we have to wonder if there isn’t some sort of justice at work.  In any event, when the “80-20 Rule” is applied to Cuba, for instance, we see that in most People’s Paradises there’s a “99.9-.01 Rule” describing property ownership. .

It’s interesting that those who focus on what they see as the unfairness of our own 80-20 Rule say absolutely nothing about the tyrannical methods that Cuban, Venezuelan, and Russian 99.9-.01 Rules are enforced.

Consistency has never been a hallmark of the lost.
