The Butler Novel lets us see that many people use their political authority to hurt families by taking money from them to gain more for themselves.
The Butler Novel helps us realize how most Butler County Republicans are used and abused. We are used to work hard for Republican candidates. We are abused by not being allowed to vote with secret ballots for those who choose them.
Some people do not want candidates who may vote against personal “special interests” to be nominated. They keep us from secret ballots. They compound that soul-staining sin by claiming it is good that they think they are better than we are.
May all of us love and respect our neighbors enough to encourage secret ballots in all Republican elections.
That lack of respect for voters has done much to let many use Republican Party elections to “feather their own nests”.
