Matthew 24: 37-39 makes it clear. Jesus said there was a Flood: “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the Flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
Jesus told the truth. He said there was a Flood. Before the Flood, people were “eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark.” The Flood came. All but Noah and his wife, three sons and their wives were washed away.
During The Flood, water rose to “cover the mountains”. At first, there may not have been any mountains. The Loving Programmer downloaded enough of the important Water Program to cover the earth. The moon exerted powerful forces on the water.
A huge tidal wave began to roll around the earth. A long mountain of water stretched from pole to pole, its high point at the equator. As it went around, the huge weight, trillions and trillions of tons, exerted immense, distorting forces on the crust.
Polar icecaps were broken up into huge chunks, as big as West Virginia. These, careening around the world, gouged up the earth’s surface. The moving water kept uncountable tons of minerals suspended. The dense water kept the big-bergs afloat. The earth’s crust began to wrinkle. Huge continents rose as ocean basins sank. Mountain ranges were squeezed upwards from the pressures of the power in the moving tidal wave.
Volcanoes erupted everywhere. Noah and his family had fireworks displays every night, as the ark, protected by The Loving Programmer’s powerful programming assistants, the Arkangels, cruised majestically through the tossing tempest.
Soon, some of the earth was covered with as much as a mile of sediment. The first mountain chains to be pushed upwards, like the Appalachians, were rounded off. The high, sharp peaks of the Rockies and Himalayas were pushed up in the latter days of The Flood. The sediments in them hardened as they rose sharply into the sky.
As the layers of sediment settled, so did the fossils. The heavier ones sank first. God-distancers would later call their orderly appearance “the fossil record”, and insist that it took several billion years to happen. Souls continue to be lost in such vanity, losing themselves in one of the many things God provided to separate His faithful believers from those too filled with pride to see His power.
The last of The Flood waters, powerful rivers, sliced through the hardening sedimentary rock. They carved out canyons, and exposed the newly laid strata for all to see. Later ages, unbelievers could see these monumental remains of The Flood and freely choose to believe that the process took just as long as their latest God-distancing theories required.
The next Flood? The Second Coming will also wash away unbelievers.
Those who will not be washed away by the “next Flood”, the Second Coming of Christ, are those who take most seriously the first Flood and learn from it how greatly and quickly The Loving Programmer can download an unexpected change of incredible magnitude upon us.
So, it makes sense to believe and obey. A beginning is to consider: The Flood was very real. Please, consider thinking about it . God bless us all with the wisdom to believe, obey, and avoid destruction.
