The First Pope: “God’s Simple Arithmetic” is a “key to Heaven”.

May all be blessed to “add up the facts” and “Trust In Jesus” enough to get “the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven” that He gave His Life to leave on earth.

Question 1:  “Are ‘Holy Addition Problems’ in God’s ‘Simple Arithmetic’ some of ‘the keys to Heaven’ from His First Pope?”

Answer:  “The First Pope begins with two ‘Holy Addition Problems’ in 2 Peter 1:1-7.   In Verse 1, He adds being a ‘slave’ to being an ‘apostle’.  He tells us that  ‘slave’ + ‘apostle’ gives ‘equality’ of Apostolic Faith to everyone who solves his ‘Holy Addition Problem’!”

~

Question 2:  “What is St. Peter’s next ‘Holy Addition Problem’?”

Answer:  “‘Beloved:  May grace and peace be yours in abundance through knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.’  Our First Pope teaches us to add ‘grace’ + ‘peace’ when we add ‘knowledge of the righteousness of God’ + ‘the righteousness of Jesus’.

~

Question 3:  “What is the next ‘Holy Addition Problem’ from St. Peter?”

Answer:  “Verse 3 is clear!   ‘His divine power has bestowed on us everything that makes for life and devotion, through the knowledge of He Who called us by His own glory and power.’

Again, simple arithmetic!   The First Pope wants us to add ‘life’ + ‘devotion’ to ‘the knowledge of Him Who called us by His own Glory and Power’.  (That is an often overlooked ‘Addition Problem’.  It lets us see that ‘Glory’ + ‘Power’ = God!)

Question 4:   “Are there more ‘Holy Additions’ from The First Pope in Verse 4?”

Answer:  “‘Through these, He has bestowed on us the precious and very great promises, so that through them you may come to share in The Divine Nature, after escaping from the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.’

Adding ‘precious’ to ‘very great promises’ lets us ‘escape from the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.’  (Another lesson in Simple Arithmetic that many do not see!  ‘Corruption’ = the number of ‘evil desires’ at work in every person and nation.)”

~

Question 5:  “Does The First Pope give us another ‘Holy Addition Problem’ in Verse 5?”

Answer:  “‘For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, virtue with knowledge.’  We are to add ‘faith + virtue’.  Then, we must add ‘knowledge’ to ‘virtue’.”

~

Question 6:  “Do the ‘Holy Arithmetic Problems’ continue?”

Answer:   “Verse 6 is clear!  We are to add ‘knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with devotion,’!”

~

Question 7:  “Has St. Peter run out of ‘Holy Addition Problems’ for us to solve?”

Answer:  “Verse 7 tells us to keep adding!  ‘devotion with mutual affection, mutual affection with love.’

~

Question 8:  “Is that the last of The First Pope’s ‘Holy Addition Problems’?”

Answer:  “Never!  We have to keep adding!  ‘If these are yours and increase in abundance, they will keep you from being idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.'”

~

Question 9:  “Can we total up The First Pope’s ‘Holy Addition Problem’?”

Answer:  “Adding Grace + Peace + Knowledge of God and Jesus’s Righteousness + Their Precious and Very Great Promises + Life + Devotion + Faith + Virtue + Goodness + Understanding + Self-control + Endurance + Perseverance + Kindness to Brothers + Mutual Affection + Love  + Increase in Abundance = Being a Good Catholic begins with ‘Simple Arithmetic’.

~

Question 10:  “What do ‘Good Catholics’ do?”

Answer:  ‘Good Catholics’ gratefully obey The Only Church-Creating Word of Jesus Christ and get the ‘keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ that He died to leave on earth for our immortal soul!

‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heavcn.’!”

~

The First Pope’s ‘Holy Addition Problem’ may have helped hundreds of billions of souls into Heaven because they Trusted Jesus enough to cry out ‘Jesus have Mercy on me!’ even in the moments before they died.

That is why we Thank God for His Catholic Popes, Bishops, priests, religious, people, and families!  They are God’s living ‘keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ for the past 2,000 years.”
