Mary’s appearance at Fatima on October 13, 1917, was the most miraculous happening since Her own Ascension into Heaven. That’s a miracle, not a mystery.
That day, 70,000 people showed up at a small town in Portugal, many having traveled long distances by foot and wagon. There, they saw the sun literally fall from the sky toward them, stopping only before they would have been incinerated. This happened three times. All 70,000 witnesses agreed. That’s a miracle, not a mystery.
The three children to whom Mary had appeared on successive months leading up to October 13 were blessed. The oldest of them became a nun, known as Sister Lucia.
Sister Lucia made it clear that The Blessed Mother wanted the Pope, and all the bishops, to “consecrate Russia to my Sacred Heart.” And, Mary told Sister Lucia a secret that the Sister wrote down. The envelope containing the secret was supposed to be opened in 1960.
Now, Catholics generally agree that Mary was the most powerful of all God’s created entities. She was so beloved by God that she was perfect, from the Immaculate Conception to Her Ascension. And, She is God’s Mother.
The first part of the greatest mystery of our times? Why don’t the Pope and the Catholic Bishops do what she clearly said she wanted them to do? Who could be so pig-headed as to ignore the Mother of He Who will judge them on the last day? Why do the Pope and the bishops persist in disobeying Her?
The greatest mystery of our times? Why hasn’t Russia been “consecrated to My (Her) Sacred Heart” as the Mother of God clearly desired?
The second part of the greatest mystery of our times: why hasn’t the “third message” been revealed, as it was supposed to be?
That’s the great mystery of Fatima. It’s not a mystery that She appeared. It’s a mystery that Her desires were not satisfied. It’s a mystery that mostly holy, mostly obedient men continue to ignore Her wishes. It’s a mystery that they know they will be judged, in no small part, by Her, whose Son’s Body and Blood they consume at the Mass, and they still continue to ignore Her.
It’s the greatest mystery of our times. Why would men who know that Mary sits at the right hand of Jesus, The Judge of their immortal souls, ignore Her. They not only ignore Her wishes, but lie, and pretend to not know that they have been ignored.
They ignore Her, knowing that He will do as She asks when they stand before Him. They know that She is said to have pleaded for even the soul of Judas. But, when he transgressed, justice reportedly kept Her from urging God to spare his soul.
A possible answer to the Mystery of why there seems to be actual disobedience on the part of Popes and Bishops:
They may understand that when Russia is consecrated to the Pope, and the final Secret is released, lies and deceptions will cease. All pretense and sham come to an end.
Maybe their preference of lies to truth and vanity to humility is why, no matter how bad things get, they won’t obey The Blessed Mother and do what She wants. Those puffed up with vanity would rather that The Program continue, no matter how many people suffer; no matter how many souls are lost in the process, so that they may continue to pretend that their self-serving deceptions and distortions have meaning.
Is there any reason to take seriously the above solution to the greatest mystery of our times?
Consider: If 1960 A.D. follows as far from John the Baptist as 1960 B.C. (possible date of the Covenant with Abraham) precedes John the Baptist, then that year may be the mid-point in time, the age of John the Baptist, that’s long been recognized by The Church.
If so, we’re living on borrowed time provided by the unwillingness of the Popes and Bishops to obey The Mother of God. Will that exacerbate the coming punishment of the disobedient? Or, will they be able to say, “Like Jesus, we were willing to sacrifice ourselves for the continued life of billions of people, some of whom would use the time gained by our disobedience to achieve salvation that would otherwise have been unobtainable.”?
So, there is another puzzle that may be the greatest mystery of our times.
