There are Beings in the Basements of Our Brains

We easily picture three levels of existence. Heaven is the highest level. We, in the teeming midlands of earth, are in the middle. The chaos of Hell is below.

Human programs are similarly organized. Our highest levels of thinking are close to God. Our earthly concerns are in the middle. The lowest reaches of our brains are filed with evil thoughts.

These thoughts are alive. They spend their days trying to crawl out of the basement to influence us as we think, say, and do things.

When there are termites, rats, cockroaches and other bad things in our dwellings’ basements, we get rid of them. When the infestation is bad, professional exterminators are called.

We get rid of evil thoughts the same way, asking The Loving Programmer to provide the necessary “exterminators”. We counter hate with love, sloth with good activity, envy with generosity, and our tendency to distort truth with truth, itself.
