Question 1:  “How long ago did Elisha cure Naaman of leprosy?”

Answer: “Around 850 BC, God’s Healing Power was revealed to the military commander upon whom The King of Syria depended.  2 Kings 5:1-15 explains that a young slave from Israel told Naaman’s wife that a prophet in Israel could cure her husband of leprosy.  Naaman went to Elisha with his impressive retinue.  Elisha sent him a message:  ‘Go and wash seven times in The Jordan, and your flesh will heal and you will be clean.’

After some objections, Naaman obeyed, was healed, returned to Elisha, and told the world what he had learned:  ‘Now I know there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel.’

Question 2:  “Does Today’s Psalm confirm that?”

Answer: “In the years Before Christ, Psalm 42:3 answered the Question asked by those who sought truth:  ‘Athirst is my soul for the living God.  When shall I go and behold the face of God?’  That question is answered by all when they realize ‘I want my soul to spend eternity in Heaven.’

Question 3:  “Were those in synagogues 850 years after that still angry at God for curing ‘Naaman the Syrian’ and not those suffering from leprosy among their people?”

Answer:  “Today’s Reading from Luke:24-30 tells us that many were enraged to be reminded they did not have a monopoly on God’s Love:  ‘During three and a half years of famine, only a widow in Sidon got food from God through the Prophet Elijah.  Again, there were many lepers in Israel during the time of Elisha the Prophet;  yet not one of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.’

Question 4:  “What did people in the synagogue do when Jesus reminded them that God had given His Healing Love to strangers and not to Israelites?”

Answer:  “They wanted to kill Jesus by throwing Him off a cliff!  ‘When the people in the synagogue heard this, they were all filled with fury.  They rose up, drove Jesus out of the town, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their town had been built, to hurl Him down headlong. But He passed through the midst of them and went away.’

Question 5: “Do some people hate Catholics for living by The Church-Creating Word of He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies:  ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’?”

Answer:  “Those who put themselves ‘before God’ have ‘fury’ at anyone who realizes that Jesus has given ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ to someone outside the approved flows of money and praise their group of believers provides.'”
