Catholics know every immortal soul will go to God’s Judgment. Catholics get ready by reading one sentence in Psalm 95:8, “If today you hear His Voice, harden not your hearts.”
Every person on earth may “hear” over 300 Prophecies in God’s Word about the coming of The Promised Messiah to The Blessed Virgin Mary of the House of David (Isaiah 7:14). We “hear” God’s Prophet announcing that Jesus would be born in the tiny village of Bethlehem (Micah 5:2). Those who do not “harden our hearts” are blessed to “hear” God and His Prophets!
“Hearts” that are not “hardened” will gratefully “hear” and follow this “Word of God” from He Whom His Prophets predicted: “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
Two things make many people too “hard-hearted” to get those “keys”: Many “hearts are hardened” by a lack of love in broken families. Other “hearts are hardened” by being encouraged to put worldly concerns “before God”.
Those with “hardened hearts” hate the idea of “Loving God and our neighbors as ourselves.” They choose to live as if there is neither God nor Judgment. Jesus describes them in Luke 11:29-32, “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah.”
Jonah, we remember, was swallowed by a “huge fish” and remained in its stomach for “three days and nights.” His skin was eaten away by digestive juices in the stomach of the fish. God kept him alive to tell the people of Nineveh they would be doomed if they did not atone for their failure to “love God and their neighbors as themselves.”
Today, science lets us see how being obedient to God removes the “curse” from this “generation’s” ration of genes. All may obey The Call to Catholic Communion that He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies told us fourteen times to receive: “If you do not eat My Body and Drink My Blood you do not have life in you.” When we receive That Holy Food, electrons in the atoms of DNA molecules in our “ration of genes” are literally upgraded! Darkness becomes light! Our “hearts” are no longer “hardened”.
Catholics know that “the men of Nineveh” will “condemn this generation”, those who did not repent their failure to love God and their neighbors and have the light, life, and love of God shining within them.
