Today is Our Lucky Day

One of the most bizarre things that I ever heard was someone (an unusually self-centered liberal, as it happened) expounding as to exactly why Friday the Thirteenth was an unlucky day: “Friday the Thirteenth is the most common day and date in the calendar. Since it occurs more frequently than any other day/date combination, it’s so very unusual that it’s marked with bad luck.”

This sentence was delivered with the solemnity with which all liberals deliver wise pronouncements.

One may respond, “How is it possible for there to be more Friday the Thirteenths than Thursday the Twelfths?”
