Today’s Reading from Zephaniah 3:1-2, 9-13 tells us whose souls are in danger at Judgment! “Thus says the LORD: Woe to the city, rebellious and polluted, to the tyrannical city! She hears no voice, accepts no correction; In the LORD she has not trusted, to her God she has not drawn near.”
Every self-serving person in every Babylonian government in History was described in two sentences! They do not hear God’s “voice” and they “accept no correction”! Many who suffer from that “Confusion Headache” come to this conclusion: “Since I ‘need no correction’, I am God!”
The Prophet Zephaniah 1:4 spoke to those in every Babylon where God would “destroy out of this place the remnant of Baal, and the names of the idolatrous priests.” His Prophecy came true in less than a century! In 586 BC, nearly all in Jerusalem were captured and taken to Babylon because “she hath not listened to God’s voice nor received discipline”! As predicted, “the proud braggarts will be removed from your midst”.
The Bible’s Messianic Prophecies were fulfilled when Jesus, the Prophesied Son of God, was “born of a Virgin of the House of David” (Isaiah 7:14) in “Bethlehem” (Micah 5:2).
He Who Fulfilled over 300 Prophecies, including those of Zehpaniah, would Speak His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church Into Being with His Church-Creating Word to His First Catholic Pope (Mt. 16-18-20)! “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Those blessed to be Catholic would be blessed for the next 2,000 years with His Catholic Gift! “I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.” Those “Gifts from God” include the Seven Catholic Sacraments: Baptism, Confession/Absolution, Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders, and Healing of the Sick.
Today’s Psalm 34:2-23 gives us Words of God with which Catholics cure every “Confusion Headache“! “The Lord redeems the lives of His servants; no one incurs guilt who takes refuge in Him.”
Those who want God’s Cure for “Confusion Headaches” plead with God in Today’s Alleluia from Psalm 70:5, “Come, O Lord, do not delay; forgive the sins of Your people.”
He Who fulfilled The Prophecies told us how to cure “Confusion Headaches” in Mt 21:28-32. One son obeyed His Father’s order: “Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.” One son said he would not, but “changed his mind” and obeyed. The other son said he would. Then, he changed his mind and “did not go”.
May all be blessed to do as the first son did: “Be Catholic” and “work in God’s vineyard!
