Today’s “Daily Catholic Reading” is both short AND profound! #14.

Those who meaningfully “Trust in Jesus” will be saved.

Question 1:  “What makes Today’s ‘Daily Reading’ so ‘short’ and ‘profound’?”

Answer:  “These Verses in The First Chapter of James 1-11 begin with Three ‘Ones’, symbolizing that The Holy Trinity is showing us how to save our souls!  ‘James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes in the dispersion, greetings.

‘Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.’  Then, St. James tells us:  ‘And let perseverance be perfect, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, they should ask God, Who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and he will be given it.’

Question 2:  “Does everyone who believes in Jesus have ‘wisdom’?”

Answer:  “Some do:  ‘But he should ask in faith, not doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed about by the wind.  For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from The Lord, since he is a person of two minds, unstable in all his ways.’

Question 3:  “Can a person ‘of two minds, unstable in all his ways’ be cured with ‘wisdom’.?”

Answer:  “People who claim to believe in Jesus and refuse to honor This Word from Him are of ‘two minds’ ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.   I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’.  Those who choose to believe only some Words of Jesus are of ‘two minds’.  This Bible Passage clearly tells us:  They keep themselves from having the ‘wisdom’ to get those ‘keys’!”

Question 4:  “Can all people, rich and poor, get those ‘keys’?”

Answer:  “‘The brother in lowly circumstances should take pride in high standing, and the rich one in his lowliness, for he will pass away ‘like the flower of the field’.
For the sun comes up with its scorching heat and dries up the grass, its flower droops, and the beauty of its appearance vanishes.  So will the rich person fade away in the midst of his pursuits.’

Question 4:  “Does Today’s Psalm tell us what to ask God to do for us?”

Answer:  “Psalm 119, 67-76 include

“Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I hold to Your promise.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes.

The law of Your mouth is to me more precious than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

I know, O LORD, that Your ordinances are just, and in your faithfulness You have afflicted me.

Let Your kindness comfort me according to your promise to your servants.

After each Passage, The Catholic Response is:‘Be kind to me, Lord, and I shall live.’

~

Question 5:  “Does Today’s Reading sum that up?

Answer:  “We say ‘Alleluia, alleluia.’ before and after This Word from John 14:6.  ‘I am the way and the truth and the life, says the Lord; no one comes to the Father except through Me.’

~

Question 6:  “What Word of Jesus Christ ends Today’s Short, Profound Reading?”

Answer:  “Mark 8:11-13 tells us that Jesus gets sick and tired of people who argue with Him!

‘The Pharisees came forward and began to argue with Jesus, seeking from Him a sign from heaven to test Him.
He sighed from the depth of His spirit and said, ‘Why does this generation seek a sign?
Amen, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.’
Then He left them, got into the boat again, and went off to the other shore.’

Catholics know that “generation” means “ration of genes”.  Those who refuse to add Words of Jesus to their “ration of genes” become “lost generations”.
