Every Catholic knows: “Some people hate us for Being Catholic!”
That hatred took form when Jesus was Crucified. It grew when Stephen was stoned. Today’s Reading from Acts 8:1-8 tells how hatred for The Catholic Church grew when more people became Catholic!
Why do so many people hate The Church-Creating Word of Jesus to His First Catholic Pope and Bishops: “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”?
Catholics know: Every religion is a Marketing Plan that promises benefits to donors. The Catholic Marketing Plan is led by Catholic priests and religious who respect Jesus so much that they take Holy Vows of Poverty, Celibacy, and Obedience to live as He did!
Many leaders of other Religious Marketing Plans hate that so much that 2,000 years of Catholic Persecutions began! “There broke out a severe persecution of The Church in Jerusalem, and all were scattered throughout the countryside of Judea and Samaria, except the Apostles.”
Peter and the First Catholic Bishops did not “scatter” from the only Church-Creating Word of He Who Fulfilled the Messianic Prophecies! They set an example of Obedience for every Catholic blessed to survive the countless anti-Catholic persecutions to follow. Many leaders of those in the “We know more than God and His Prophets!” groups have hated and “persecuted” us for the last 2,000 years!
Their persecutions are miracles that help those blessed to be among God’s most obedient people become Catholics! “Thus Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed The Christ to them. With one accord, the crowds paid attention to what was said by Philip… unclean spirits, crying out in a loud voice, came out of many possessed people, and many paralyzed and crippled people were cured… There was great joy in that city.”
Prophecies in Psalm 66:1-7 were fulfilled! “Let all the earth cry out to God with joy… Sing praise to The Glory of His Name… Come and see the works of God… He rules by His might, forever.”
The Gospel from John 6:40 assures Catholics: “‘Everyone who believes in The Son has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.’, says The Lord.”
Who meaningfully “believes”?
Catholics are blessed! We “believe” enough to obey The Call to Catholic Communion that Jesus Christ, Himself, repeated 12 times in the last half of John 6 and twice more at The Last Supper: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”
Catholics are grateful to our Catholic ancestors! We owe our salvation to those who survived the persecutions led by leaders of Marketing Plans who hated That Word of God about Catholic Communion!
Jesus tells us how important it is to be as Catholic as we can! “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.”
