Today’s Reading & Catholic Fundamentalism

The Reading begins with Romans, 8;18:

“For creation awaits with eager expectation
the revelation of the children of God;
for creation was made subject to futility,
not of its own accord but because of the one who subjected it,
in hope that creation itself
would be set free from slavery to corruption
and share in the glorious freedom of the children of God.”

When this passage is examined with the terms of Catholic Fundamentalism, we may get a different idea of how profoundly real it is.

“The Creation Program eagerly waits
for those who realize they’ve been programmed and downloaded by The Loving Programmer,

Because The Creation Program was written and downloaded so as not to provide any ultimate truth within it

Because The Loving Programmer wanted His beloved, human, free-will programs to understand, believe, and obey because they chose to believe that truth was only to be found in Him Who wrote and downloaded their programs within The Creation Program.”

It is futile to try and find ultimate truth in a universe that was carefully written and downloaded so that we could not find any ultimate truth within it. That doesn’t stop the lost souls in each generation from embracing and idolizing their own concerns.

Years ago, those unable to break free from the world decided that a weight would be put under glass. It would be the standard for how much a kilogram weighed. Over the years, it was found that the weight changed. So had the length of the “official meter”.

Other “official measures”, some going farther back than Babylon, have also undergone corruption, change, and replacements by other, “better” systems. None of them do much better than their predecessors, but measuring the immeasurable does provide throngs of minions with work that can thought of as “important”.

From that time to this, the predictions of the prophets have not changed. The Loving Programmer, The Program Himself (Jesus Christ, Who took perfect, obedient, human form to help us live joyfully forever in Heaven) and The Holy Wireless Connector still provide assistance for souls who choose to be saved.

The process of Salvation remains. The same obstacles are still in place. The same temptations still separate us from believing and obeying as thoroughly as we should.

And, at the end of the day, we, as our ancestors, may do what is necessary to save our souls.
