Today’s Reading. John 2, 1-5: Advice to All.

Today’s Reading

“On the third day there was a marriage at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; Jesus also was invited to the marriage, with his disciples. When the wine failed, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “O woman, what have you to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

John 2, 1-5: Advice to All

The Second Person of The Trinity, the Creation Program, Himself, took human form and came among us. Powerful as He was, He obeyed His Mother. First, He argued with Her, saying “My hour has not yet come”. She ignored Him, the Ruler of the Universe, and, by directing her command to mere servants, prompted Him to begin His work.

As we go through life, we should remember and obey Her admonition to the servants: “Do whatever He tells you.”

Then, as now, He will listen to His Mother. There is no better reason to ask Her to intercede with Him for us.
