Question 1:  “Does St. Paul’s Letter to the Hebrews 12:1-4, in Today’s Reading warn us of dangers to our soul?”

Answer:  “‘Brothers and sisters:  Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of Faith.’

~

Question 2:  “What is ‘the great cloud of witnesses’ that ‘surrounds’ us?”

Answer:  “Yesterday’s Reading, Mark 5:1-20 told us the soul of the possessed man was ‘surrounded’ by a ‘cloud’ of 2,000 demons.  Those ‘witnesses’ kept him from ‘fixing his eyes on Jesus’.  More ‘clouds’ of such ‘witnesses’ surrounded every soul of those who asked Jesus to ‘leave our district’!”

~

Question 3:  “What do demons in the ‘cloud’ around every soul keep us from doing?”

Answer:  “Those ‘witnesses’ are part of the dark ‘cloud’ that keeps many souls from the ‘keys’ that Jesus died to leave to His First Catholic Pope:  ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’

~

Question 4:  “Why are all those ‘witnesses’ trying to keep our soul from Heaven?”

Answer: “They only get to stay out of hell as long as they can keep us from ‘fixing our eyes’ on Jesus’.”

~

Question 5: “Did Jesus tell us how to ‘perfect our Faith’ so our soul could get into Heaven?”

Answer:  “‘For the sake of the joy that lay before Him, Jesus endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken His seat at the right hand of The Throne of God.’

~

Question 6:  “Do Catholics ‘Consider how Jesus endured such opposition from sinners, so that each of us may not grow weary and lose heart.’?”

Answer:  “We could all do better!  ‘In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood.’  God’s greatest blessing lets Catholics have ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ without the suffering of Jesus and His Saints.”

~

Today’s Simple Rhyme:  “May God bless me to understand / And be as Catholic as I can.”
