Catholics have an overlooked Joy that no other people have. We get to connect Words of God to Abraham, Moses, and the Prophets to Jesus and to us! us! For 2,000 years, our Church has provided Daily Readings for her Catholic priests and people. Every day, we get to see how much God loves us.
Today’s Reading begins with the Tribes that came from Abraham’s “Upgraded DNA”, almost 4,000 years ago: Moses and the Twelve Tribes spent 40 years being purified, sometimes with Fire From Heaven, but mostly with The Teachings God revealed to Moses in what Exodus 33:7-11, 34:5-9, 28 calls “The Meeting Tent” where Moses met with God “outside the camp”.
Today’s Old Testament Reading tells us some of what God told Moses “when The Column of Cloud would come down while The LORD spoke with Moses face to face.” We see what God told Moses:
“The LORD, The LORD, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity, continuing His kindness for a thousand generations, and forgiving wickedness and crime and sin; yet not declaring the guilty guiltless, but punishing children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation for their fathers’ wickedness!”
Moses tells us how to identify those overcome by “wickedness”: They are a “stiff-necked people” who will not bow their heads before God and His Teachings.
Today, Psalm 103:6-13, reminds us: “The Lord is kind and merciful, securing justice and the rights of all the oppressed. He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in kindness. He does not requite us according to our crimes, He has put our transgressions as far from us as the East is from the West and has compassion on those who fear Him.”
Catholics today attend Mass where those who are in the chosen “company” of those who “fear Him” receive the miracle that Jesus provided after He fulfilled over 300 Prophecies about His Coming to earth from The Blessed Virgin Mary of the House of David in the village of Bethlehem: His Body and blood replaced the “column of Smoke” in which He once appeared.
May all be blessed to “fear God” enough to receive His Body and Blood at the hands of Catholic priests able to provide That Holy Miracle in Catholic Communion by turning bread and wine into His Body and Blood and giving it to those who “fear God” enough to confess our sins to those whom His Catholic priests use The Power Jesus gave them to absolve sins in John 20:23, “Those whose sins You forgive on earth are forgiven in Heaven.”
What keeps Catholics from being “stiff-necked”? We live by John 8:12, “I am the light of the world, says The LORD; whoever follows Me will have the light of life.” We receive that “light of the world” every time we receive Catholic Communion from the hands of our blessed priests.
Catholics know: “We are often blessed to be hated by those who do not “fear God” enough to follow Him, Abraham, Moses, His Prophets, and His Son into His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies Spoke Into Being with His Church-Creating Word to His First Catholic Pope in Mt. 1 6:18-20, ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’”
Some who do not love and “fear God” enough to be Catholic in a very confusing world simply don’t know any better. Others have the same “stiff-necked” vanity at the heart of their “wickedness”: “I know more than He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies about how to get ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’.”
