Why Constantinople fell.

Why Constantinople fell. When the city was surrounded by invading Moslems, the last Roman Emperor was approached by a Hungarian of dubious sanity and indubitable genius. “I can build you a cannon,”, he claimed, “that will throw huge cannon balls for miles. You can destroy the Moslems in their formations and encampments before they can attack.”

The last Roman Emperor was not impressed. “We don’t need to buy your cannon or your expertise. Our walls are so thick that no one can get through them.”

So, the Hungarian sold his cannon to the Moslems. They pounded the walls with huge projectiles until they breached it. Then, they took the city.

Why did the God of the Christians allow this to happen?

Catholic Fundamentalists believe that God wanted one Rome, not two.
