Judgment: Sheep from goats, smart from ___ ?

It is amazing!  Most of us spend more time picking out a new car than we spend choosing a church.   The car will move us around for a few years.  The Church we choose may determine where our immortal soul spends eternity.  Judgment:  Sheep from goats, smart from ___ ?

The most intelligent of us look hard for truth in Church.

We begin with the Only Thing Any Human May Know:  Prophecies were written over a thousand years before Jesus.  They predicted His Birth, Life, Death, and Resurrection.

Of a million tiny towns and villages throughout the world, the prophet Micah said The Messiah would be born in the tiny village of Bethlehem.  Other prophets said He would be born in The Tribe of Judah.  It was predicted that He would be born of The House of David within that Tribe.

Of the few hundred million people in the world at that time, a few hundred were of The House of David.  The odds that one of them would be born at the time predicted by Daniel so specifically that the Wise Men showed up when Jesus was born are billions to one.

The odds that Jesus would be “lifted up before men”, and that people would “look upon He Whom they pierced”, while “no bone of His would be broken” made the odds trillions to one that He was NOT the predicted Messiah.

Is it enough to merely say “I believe in Jesus.”?   Jesus did not think so.  He knew we needed a Church, so He Founded One.  He said, one time to one man, “Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Would an intelligent person ignore The Only Church Jesus Founded?  Who could ignore His promise about His Church?  “. . and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”  Where else may we find “the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”?
