~

Question 1:  “How many Prophesies did Jesus make in Mk. 14, on nearly His last day on earth?”

Answer:  “Prophecies Before Going to Jerusalem are in Today’s Reading, Mk. 14:3-9.  ‘He replied to those who were ‘infuriated’ at the woman who broke an expensive ‘alabaster jar of genuine spikenard and poured it on His head, wasting a year’s salary that could have been given to the poor’ with His Last Prophecies:

Prophecy #1:  ‘She has done a good thing for Me.

Prophecy  #2:  but you will not always have Me.

Prophecy #3:  The poor you will always have with you,

Prophecy #4: and whenever you wish you can do good to them, (He then repeated Prophecy #2:  ‘but you will not always have Me.’)”

Prophecy #5:  and whenever you wish you can do good to them,

Prophecy #6:  Jesus tells us that the woman’s action was a prophecy of what would soon happen.  ‘She has anticipated anointing My body for burial.’

Prophecy #7:  ‘Amen, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed to the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.’

Question 2:  “Did Jesus make more ‘Prophecies’ in Today’s Reading?”

Answer:  “Mk. 14:13 is Prophecy #8:  ‘He sent two of His disciples and said to them, ‘Go into the city and a man will meet you,

Prophecy #9:  The man would be ‘carrying a jar of water.’

Prophecy #10: Jesus prophesied that they would ‘Follow him’ to ‘wherever he enters.’

Prophecy #11: Jesus Prophesied that there would be a ‘master of the house’

Prophecy #12:  Jesus Prophesied they would say to him:  ‘The Teacher says, ‘Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?’

Prophesy #13:  Jesus told us about a place that had been Prophesied from the Beginning of Time:  ‘Then he will show you a large upper room furnished and ready.’

~

Question 3:  “Did all those Prophecies come true?”

Answer:  “Mk. 14:16 tells us they all came true! ‘The disciples then went off, entered the city, and found it just as he had told them; and they prepared the Passover.’

~

Question 4:  “What other Prophecies did Jesus make in Today’s Reading?”

Answer:  “Today’s Reading has Prophecies from The Upper Room:

Prophesy #14 is in Mk. 14:18:  ‘And as they reclined at table and were eating, Jesus said, ‘Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray Me, one who is eating with Me.’

Prophesy #15:  ‘He said to them, “One of the Twelve, the one who dips with me into the dish.’

Prophesy #16:  Jesus prophesied that they would soon ‘look upon He Whom they pierced’ by saying ‘For the Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of Him,’

Prophecy #17 concerns the eternal damnation of Judas:  ‘but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born.’

Earlier verses in Mk.14:9-10 tell how Judas fulfilled That Prophecy of Jesus:  ‘Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went off to the chief priests to hand Him over to them.  When they heard him they were pleased and promised to pay him money. Then Judas looked for an opportunity to hand Him over.’

Question 5:  “Did Jesus make a Prophecy in The Upper Room about how He would remain with those who would obey His Church-Creating Word?”

Answer:  “Jesus gave the next 2,000 years of Catholics The Prophecy that would let them obey The Clear Call to Catholic Communion He repeated 14 times:  ‘If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.’ when He Prophesied in Verses 22-24:

‘While they were eating, He took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, and said, ‘Take it; this is My body.’  Then, He took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it.  He said to them, ‘This is My blood of the covenant, which will be shed for many.’

Prophesy #18 quickly followed:  ‘Amen, I say to you, I shall not drink again the fruit of the vine until the day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.’

Question 6:  “Did Jesus make more Prophecies when they left the Upper Room and heard His Prophecies from The Mount of Olives?”

Answer:  Prophesy #19 was shared by Jesus.  ‘Then Jesus said to them, ‘All of you will have your faith shaken, for it is written:  ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be dispersed.’

Prophecy #20 quickly followed:  ‘But after I have been raised up, I shall go before you to Galilee.’

~

Question 7:  “Did all the Apostles accept The Prophecies of Jesus at The Mount of Olives?”

Answer:  “Peter made the mistake of telling Jesus that He was wrong to say that he, Peter would ever disobey Him!  ‘Peter said to Him, “Even though all should have their faith shaken, mine will not be.’

Prophecy #21 is Another Prophecy, directed at what Peter would soon do: ‘Then Jesus said to him, “Amen, I say to you, this very night before the cock crows twice you will deny me three times.’

~

Question 8:  “Did Peter and the other Disciples, The First Catholic Bishops, agree with That Prophecy of Jesus?”

Answer:  “Peter and others made a ‘false prophesy’‘But he vehemently replied, “Even though I should have to die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all spoke similarly.’

Prophecies during The Agony in The Garden

Question 9:  “After the Disciples could not ‘stay awake’ and ‘keep watch’ with Jesus, did Jesus make more Prophecies?”

Prophesy #22 is clear.  Jesus Prophesied that they, and every Catholic who followed, must ‘Watch and pray that you may not undergo the test.  The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.’

Prophesy #23 followed:  ‘He returned a third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough.  That Prophesy tells Catholics that we do not have to be as perfect as Jesus.  We just have to be as Catholic as we can by being with Him.  What a blessed relief!

Prophesy #24:  ‘The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is to be handed over to sinners.”

All the previous Prophesies came true in the next verse, Mk.14:42:  ‘Get up, let us go. See, My betrayer is at hand.’

~

Question 10:  “Did Jesus make more ‘Prophesies’ after He Was Betrayed and Arrested?

Prophesy #25:  “Jesus predicted that those who had Him arrested would be condemned for participating in this Great Hypocrisy:  ‘Jesus said to them in reply, ‘Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs, to seize Me?  Day after day I was with you teaching in the temple area, yet you did not arrest Me; but that The Scriptures may be fulfilled.’

~

Question 11:  “Was there another Prophesy when Jesus stood before The Sanhedrin Court?

Prophesy #26:  Jesus remained silent as Verses 55-59 showed how confused the people who hated Him were.  His silence was a Prophesy that would show Christians for the next 2,000 years that many loved worldly authority more than He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies.”

~

Question 12:  “Did any of His questioners make sense?”

Answer:  “Verse 60-61 tells us that the silence of Jesus forced the high priest to ask two intelligent questions!  ‘The high priest rose before the assembly and questioned Jesus, saying, ‘Have You no answer? What are these men testifying against You?’  But He was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him and said to Him, ‘Are You the Messiah, the son of the Blessed One?’

Jesus answered with Prophesy #27!  ‘Then Jesus answered, ‘I am. And ‘you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of Heaven.’

~

Question 13:  “Is it possible for anyone to clearly understand how 27 Prophecies of Jesus came true in one part of Mark 14 and not be Catholic?

Answer:  “Everyone who successfully asks God to let them Think Clearly about Who Jesus Is will be Catholic.”
