We choose our way, hopefully to Heaven

The Creation Program was written to provide each of us human programs with free will.   We are forced to make many, many choices.  Every thought, word, and deed is the result of a choice we make.  We choose our way, hopefully to Heaven.Juan Diego

We choose our way through a lifetime of opposites.  God/devil.   Good/evil.  Abel/Cain.  Truth/lies.  Love/hate.  Good/bad.  On/off.  Creation/evolution.   Obedience/disobedience.  Help/hurt.  Belief/atheism.  Catholic/anti-Catholic.  Humility/arrogance.  Blessed/cursed.  Heaven/hell.  Wet/dry.  Hot/cold.  Lust/chastity.  Up/down.  Left/right.  East/West.  North/South.  Capitalist/communist.  Private/public.  Freedom/slavery.  New/used.  Selfish/generous.  Dog/cat.  In/out.  Life/death.  Left/right.  Saved/lost.  Work/play.  Save/squander.  Do something/do nothing.  Buy/rent.

Choices become decisions.  Decisions determine direction.  Each of us has a soul.  It will end up in either Heaven or hell forever.   We choose our way, hopefully to Heaven, by choosing to make the right decisions.  Will we believe and obey?

Over thousands of years, prophets appeared among Abraham’s descendants.  Three hundred prophecies were carefully, and expensively, written by hand, copied by hand, and preserved.  They predicted the coming of a Messiah.

Jesus arrived at the predicted town on the appointed date.  He was born of the prophesied House of the foretold Tribe.  He lived and died, fulfilling the prophecies until He was “lifted up before men”.

Jesus founded One Church.  He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies said to one man, one time:  “Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Some choose to follow His choice, and become part of The Only Church Jesus Founded.  Others choose to invent and follow variations.

He gave another instruction.  He said, an incredible six times in the verses preceding John 6:66, “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

That made so little sense that all of His less faithful followers abandoned Him.  Those who stayed were at The Last Supper.  There, He turned bread and wine into His Body and Blood.  Those who chose to receive it had “life in” them.  Turns out that “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.” was a test, a way to separate obedient sheep from disobedient goats.

He wanted those who would come afterwards to be able to choose life.   The Only Church He Founded ordained priests with the power to forgive sins.  That Absolution allowed the forgiven to receive His Body and Blood through the Miracle of Transubstantiation.  In every Catholic Mass,  priests in a living link with the Apostles are empowered to provide His Body and Blood from bread and wine.

Many lack the faith to choose to believe that.

Every generation is winnowed.  Some choose to believe and obey all that He taught.  Others choose to believe and obey some of His teachings.  Others choose to believe nothing.

In every age, His most faithful followers choose to believe and obey The Only Church He Founded.   Helping us to make the choice,  He said “If you obey My Commands you are My friends.”

Many are called, few are chosen to choose obedience.
