flypaper

Many flies fly into flypaper. No more buzzing around! They soon die. People buzz around. Many get stuck on some vanity. Those who can’t escape vanity must die.

Think about the fly. It’s alive, but can’t pull its tiny feet from the sticky paper. Can we help it? If we pull it off, we’ll break its legs, or jerk them right out of the sockets!

“In my life, I am stuck. I can’t get anywhere. I feel like a fly on flypaper!”

Catholics, doing our mission duty, reply: “Your soul is separated from Jesus. He was clearer about one instruction than any other. He told us more than a dozen times, ‘If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.’ So, if you really believe in Jesus, you must do what’s necessary to receive Catholic Communion. Then, you will come back to life.”

“I can’t! I’m stuck! I can’t get anywhere!”

“You silly person! The real problem is that you are too attached to your shoes! Pull your feet out of them and jump off what’s holding you down. It is your shoes that are stuck and can’t get anywhere, not you or your soul. Take off your shoes! Jump carefully away from what’s holding them down!

“Oh.”

Jesus was clear: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.” He died to provide us One Church whose priests had the power to provide His Body and Blood to those who would believe and obey Him. If we take advantage of that, we may live.

If we prefer what holds us down to floating free, we are stuck forever.

Jesus was clear. It is not sane to believe and disobey.
