Catholics have a duty to save souls. Bible-based Catholic replies to Protestantism help us to help them when they ask:

“What happens to Protestant souls that believe Jesus is the Son of God? We believe in the Trinity. We have been baptized. We believe in the virgin birth through the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the resurrection of the body. Are our souls lost forever? Your desire to bring Protestants into the Catholic Church makes us think you believe our souls are lost. What else could push you to convert these people? For what it’s worth, many fundamentalist Christians believe that most Catholics are doomed to hell unless they have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior and been born again.”

That is a good summing up of many heartfelt beliefs within Protestantism.

How may we apologize for differing? “We Catholics are stuck! The Bible clearly says that Jesus Only Founded One Church because He only said to one man, one time, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’
“We Catholics see no way to get around that! And, we see no way to avoid His command to receive Catholic Communion! He said eighteen times, ‘If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.’ How else may we obey the order He gave most often except by receiving Catholic Communion in The Only Church He Founded?”

Sometimes, we add: “Jesus was crystal clear: ‘You are My friends if you obey My commands.’ So, we ‘work out our salvation with fear and trembling.’ Our way? We obey!”
