Moving from lunacy toward sanity.

In the last two days, we’ve covered some widespread mental disorders.  Doom and Gloom Syndrome and Can’tbetoocarefulitis  were briefly described.

Then, Tipping Point Fever was covered.  Understanding those errors in thinking helps us to replace irrational thinking with rational thoughts.  Our closeness to God, Who is utterly rational, grows with each error that we erase from our individual operating systems.  Moving from lunacy toward sanity helps us replace the pain of chaos with the joyful order of Heaven.

As we become free from popular, delusional thinking, we may ask, “What should I do, next?”   A sane answer to that is always “What’s best for me?”   Then, we may begin to understand that our most profitable endeavor is to concentrate on trusting and obeying The Loving Programmer.  Why?  Belief and obedience will increase the likelihood that our own immortal souls will live in joy forever.

Today’s Reading is His perfectly timed help to our ongoing transformation from slug to bird:

Reading 1  Is 48: 17-19

“Thus says the LORD, your redeemer,
the Holy One of Israel:
I, the LORD, your God,
teach you what is for your good,
and lead you on the way you should go.
If you would hearken to my commandments,
your prosperity would be like a river,
and your vindication like the waves of the sea;
Your descendants would be like the sand,
and those born of your stock like its grains,
Their name never cut off
or blotted out from my presence.”

This short, simple summing up of how we should live during our days in the clay is a beginning.  If we “hearken to His commandments” we will begin, in words of our time, to “obey His Operating Instructions”.  Then, consider the good things will happen to us in the last six lines of Today’s Reading from Isaiah.

If we have purged our minds of mentally unproductive thought processes, we will read, heed, and obey.  If we aren’t?  We will ignore His profound advice and continue to justify our apparently pleasant stroll down the broad pathway to destruction.

The rational life is a continual process of moving from lunacy toward sanity.
