February 1, 2011 It’s a Short Month. Miserable Weather. Take Advantage of it.

Most of us don’t have a lot to do in February. We could use some of our spare time to think about God as The Loving Programmer. Why not? It is a short month and the weather is miserable.

First, we consider the idea that He’s powerful enough to program particles and compile them into beings. Then, it may occur to us, “Maybe Grandma’s beliefs were right, but didn’t know the latest words to make them seem real to me. If The Loving Programmer is powerful enough to program particles, compile them into systems and beings, and have me downloaded as one of those beings, maybe I should spend a little time thinking about Him.”

We can’t disprove that each of us has a soul that will spend eternity either in or out of His Presence and may conclude that playing it safe is worth a little trouble: “Well, if there’s a chance that He’s powerful enough to program something as complicated as my mind and body, and have it downloaded into His huge Creation Program, maybe I should pay at least some attention.”

Our soul is flooded with relief. “If the spirit, mind, and body in which I live keeps this up, I get to spend eternity in Heaven! Now, if I can just keep my spirit and mind focused more on The Loving Programmer than on all the tempting entities that have been programmed around me, I may make it!”
