Two Levels of Programming

Today’s reading is extremely interesting to Catholic Fundamentalism:

Gospel Mk 8:22-26

When Jesus and his disciples arrived at Bethsaida,
people brought to Him a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village.
Putting spittle on his eyes He laid His hands on the man and asked,
“Do you see anything?”
Looking up the man replied, “I see people looking like trees and walking.”
Then He laid hands on the man’s eyes a second time and he saw clearly;
his sight was restored and he could see everything distinctly.
Then He sent him home and said, “Do not even go into the village.”

Jesus was asked to restore a man’s “Vision Program”.   He did so.  the man reported that the first level of programming was successful.  He knew that could see because images were in his brain.  But, he did not know what he was seeing, telling Jesus, “I see people who look like walking trees.”

So, his  eyes were admitting light, and the images were being accessed by the brain, but the images made so sense.  So, Jesus moved  to a higher level of programming, and restored the inner workings of that part of the “Vision Program” that was in the brain.

Jesus was able to restore the  tiniest parts of the human’s Vision Program, particles as small as atoms and molecules.  He was able to ensure that the tiny amounts of light not only were transmitted into the mind, but also, that the mind could make sense of them.

A person just gaining the ability to see needs months of  experience to relate what he is suddenly seeing to things that have only been known by other senses.  Jesus showed that He had the ability to download within the man all that he needed to make sense of what was now having come into his mind.  Further, He downloaded each bit of information in the right place.

Jesus, “the Word of God”, had the power to transmit all the “words” into the proper places within the man’s “Brain Program” so that he could  make sense of what he was now seeing.
