Another Catholic Daily Reading tells us to “Be Catholic”!

Answer:  “1 John 5:1-6 tells us to:  ‘Be Catholic!’ by telling us:  “Beloved: (That word divides humanity into two groups, the ‘beloved’ and all others.)  Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten by God, and everyone who loves The Father also loves the one begotten by Him.’  Clearly, all who heed God’s Call to be ‘Christian’ are ‘begotten by God!’

~

Then, St. John focuses on the ‘Christians’ who are closest to God:  ‘In this way we know that we love the children of God when we love God and obey His commandments.  For the love of God is this:  that we obey His commandments.  Obeying God lets His Love enter into us.”

~

Question 2:  “What chosen group of ‘Christians’ does That Passage focus on?”

Answer:  “That Word focuses on those who ‘love God enough to obey His commandments’.”

~

Question 3:  “Which group of ‘Christians’ spend their lives ‘obeying His commandments’?”

Answer:  “Catholic Christians obey Christ’s Church-Creating ‘commandment’:  ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.'”

~

Question 4:  “How do we know that Jesus loves Catholic Christians more than others?”

Answer:  “Jesus loves Catholic Christians so much that He makes them This Promise!  ‘I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’!”

~

Question 5:  “Does John tell us that everyone can be among Christ’s most ‘beloved’ people?”

Answer:  “‘For the love of God is this, that we keep His commandments.’  It is not hard to ”Be Catholic’!  ‘And his commandments are not burdensome, for whoever is begotten by God conquers the world.'”

~

Question 6:  “How do we know if we have ‘conquered the world’?”

Answer:  “St. John, the most ‘beloved’ of His First Catholic Bishops, is very clear:  ‘And the victory that conquers the world is our (Catholic!) faith.'”
