a “Whoosh!” we all hope to make

Every year or so, we see an amazing basketball shot.  Someone, as the clock is ticking the last moment of the game, throws a ball from the far end of the court.  The eyes of the audience turn to track its progress as it arcs through the air.

Sometimes, there is a “Whoosh!” followed by an eruption of applause.  The applause is not so much for they player.  While skill is important, in this case, they know there’s a lot of luck involved.  We who believe know that a guardian angel probably helped.

When we have a child, we want his or her soul to get into Heaven after a long, hard-fought, successful game.  When that child’s soul gets into Heaven, it’s with a “Whoosh!” we all hope to make.  And, there’s a similar roar from the watching millions of souls who preceded that soul into Heaven.

That’s a “Whoosh!” we all hope to make.  We want it for ourselves, our loved ones, for our neighbors, for everyone in the world.  Every saved soul who precedes us wishes the same thing, as do the saints and angels and the Loving Programmer Who downloaded all there is, just for the joy of the “Whoosh!” and the eternal ecstasy that follows.
