The old adage, “Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.” may be applied to obedience. In the Armed Forces, there are General Orders that exist and must always be obeyed by all personnel, regardless of rank.
Among Christians, the Ten Commandments must be obeyed by those who want to get to Heaven. From Pope to parishioner, no one disagrees that the Ten Commandments apply.
Most Catholics pray the “Our Father”. That’s the prayer Jesus told us to pray. It contains all the necessary requests for all that we need.
Along with the “Our Father”, most Catholics know that we may need additional help. We frequently ask Mary, the Saints, and Angels to intercede for us. The Loving Programmer has placed them in a position to hear our requests for programming assistance (prayers) and pass them on to He Who can order that our request be granted.
This is a much more complicated process than that used by Protestants. They just ask for things without going through the specialists that The Loving Programmer has put in place in a sort of celestial Chain of Command. Their prayers arrive in a jumble. Catholic prayers to directly to the proper specialist/Saint/Angel and are transmitted more directly. Protestants don’t like this, much, but that’s the way it works. Some of them, by the way, have been given an intuitive grasp of how things work. They will ask Mary and other Saints and Angels to intercede for them. Such people should become Catholics to increase the power of their connection and thank Him for the Grace He gave them to make such progress. Some do.
Avoid The State of Disconnect!
There is a danger of Disconnect in prayer. Someone who prays to God for, say, forgiveness, and does not forgive is in the State of Disconnect. Someone who asks for prosperity and is not generous is in The State of Disconnect. Someone who asks for salvation and commits sins is in The State of Disconnect. Those who die in The State of Disconnect cannot get into Heaven.
This is all leading up to the point that has been repeatedly made in the last several columns: Is a member of The Catholic Clergy, regardless of rank, who prays to Mary for assistance and at the same time will not clearly and publicly obey Her clear and public desire to have Russia consecrated to Her Immaculate Heart, and release the 3rd Secret of Fatima in The State of Disconnect?
