The “I believe in Jesus.” Level.

There are levels of belief in God.

Many realize that five hundred years before Jesus, prophets wrote down hundreds of things they were told about His coming.  “He was born of the Virgin Mary, crucified under Pontius Pilate, suffered, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell.  On the third day, He rose again.  He ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of The Father, from whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.”

That sums up the basics of Christian belief.  Many spend a lifetime on The “I believe in Jesus.” Level.

Others are struck by things Jesus said that seem to make no sense.  One of them is:  “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.”  The first time He said those words, many people moved away from Him.  They still do.

Those committed to The “I believe in Jesus.” Level ignore or twist such phrases.  Why don’t they want to go to a higher level, closer to God?

They are afraid to leave the world “too far” behind.  The “I believe in Jesus.” Level is, after all, higher than the Levels below it.  “I am happy, here.  I love Jesus.  Jesus loves me.”  Many say they are happy on the “I believe in Jesus.” Level.

Others think about why Jesus said “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.”  They may realize:  “That sentence is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever heard.  He said it because He wants me to do something.”  True seekers realize that Jesus’ Body and Blood are only available in Catholic Communion.  They do the only thing they can: they become Catholic.

Those who decided to remain on The “I believe in Jesus.” Level are often resentful.  Resentment increases among those dependent on the substantial cash flows that exist on the “I believe in Jesus.” level.  Many who make a living from being on The “I believe in Jesus.” Level will, in fact, viciously attack those who have followed Jesus’ words to the only place they can receive His Body and Blood.

That’s life.
