Each of us is either wheat or weeds. Which are we?

Catholic Fundamentalism respectfully suggests that this passage from Matthew tells us a great deal about The Creation Program and what each of us is within it.

Matthew 13: 24-30

Jesus proposed a parable to the crowds.
“The Kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man
who sowed good seed in his field.
While everyone was asleep his enemy came
and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off.
When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well.
The slaves of the householder came to him and said,
‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field?
Where have the weeds come from?’
He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’
His slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’
He replied, ‘No, if you pull up the weeds
you might uproot the wheat along with them.
Let them grow together until harvest;
then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters,
“First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning;
but gather the wheat into my barn.”

We know the difference between that which is useful, like wheat, and that which is useless and destructive.  Jesus explains that the devil introduced corrupted human programs into The Creation Program.   The Loving Programmer explains that the virus has introduced destructive beings into The Creation Program.  He lets them live their lives. If He destroyed them, as at Sodom, He might damage the obedient, humble human programs who do His will.

Who are these weeds in human form?  They include all who do evil in the name of good, communists, environmental extremists, and the other Babylonians of every age.  At the heart of evil are those who willfully encourage child sacrifice.  Yesterday’s Baal worshipers are today’s abortionists.

Are we wheat or weeds?  We might wonder if our own actions in any way encourage the destruction of the unborn, hurt families, or are inimical to life.  Are we unified in His Church, fighting every evil?  Do we let ourselves become vain?  Confused?  Are we scattered among schisms, allowing the weeds to choke out life?

Weeds come in many species.  They include all who strive to corrupt human programs with pride, envy, greed, gluttony, anger, lust, and sloth.
