Today’s Reading: Exodus is “A Catholic History Lesson” #9.

Catholics understand: The Stoning of St. Stephen is a Prophecy that has been fulfilled every day for the past 2,000 years.

Today’s Reading is a History Lesson from Exodus 1:8-14, 22.   The Bible tells us what hateful people always do to those who prosper by loving God and their families.  “A new king who knew nothing about how God had blessed the Israelites” came to power in Egypt.  He said what the ruler of every Envious Group would say for the next 3,500 years:  “Look how numerous and powerful the children of Israel are growing, more so than we, ourselves!”  Their inevitable conclusion around 1,400 years before Christ:  “We must destroy God’s People.”

Those who hate God and His People tried again, by deporting Jews to Babylon in 597-538 BC.

That same hatred crystallized against The Church Spoken Into Being by The Church-Creating Word of He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies:  “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Persecutions of The Catholic Church take the same form.  First, as we see in the Nicolaitans mentioned in Revelation 2:6, 13, 15, they argue against Catholic Teachings.  When those who love themselves more than their neighbors can’t win arguments against The Fulfillment of Prophecies, they finance forces to attack us.  From Nero to Constantine, the power of Rome focused on destroying God’s Catholic Church.

When that did not work, enemies of The Church argued against The Trinity.  Hordes of Arian Goths, Visigoths, Lombards, and others viciously attacked Catholics.   That didn’t work.

Their latest argument:  five hundred years of anti-Catholic denominations were financed to focus on undermining The Divine Perfection of “Thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church . . .” as they tried to get “the gates of hell” to “prevail against it”.  Today, nations confused by “somewhat Christian” beliefs are being attacked by waves of invaders that deeply divided denominations are too confused to stop.

For the past 2,000 years, earthly rulers have focused on destroying Catholics and our Church.  God has sent leaders like Constantine, Reccared I, Clovis, Charlemagne, Alfred, Otto, Louis IX, Ferdinand/Isabella, and others to protect His People and Church.

We pray that He does so, soon!

Today’s Simple Rhyme:  “God is the same. / His enemies differ in name.                                                                                                                                       Is there time before the end / for God to again defend His friends?”
