Is denying The Church the same as denying Jesus?

Some founders of schisms have a dark side.   Anglicans and Episcopalians are not encouraged to remember that their founder, Henry VIII, had  several of his wives decapitated by his executioner.  They do not think about the 72,000 countrymen killed by that same Henry, mostly for obeying their Confirmation Vows as Catholics.  They do not think of the land, buildings, and property stolen from rightful owners to give to those who sold their souls to support his murdering thievery and enjoy a few years of being called “My Lord” by the remaining peasants on their new estates before being judged by the greatest King of all.

Congregationalists and Presbyterians are not encouraged to consider the deaths in Geneva where rivals to their founder, John Calvin, were put to death.  One of those men, in fact, could have been decapitated, but the founder of the Presbyterian faith preferred to have him burned alive.  And, did.

Schismatics are not urged to think ab0ut Jim Jones, and the slaughter he made among his own followers at Jonestown.

What does the Catechism of The Catholic Church say about the possibility of Protestant salvation?  In a way, it says, “Ignorance is bliss.”

CCC 846 is very clear:  “

The Catechism is clear:  What does the Bible say will happen to those who reject Christ on earth?.  Matthew 10:33  “But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.”

This is very serious business.  Eternity is at stake.  The wisest thing to do is minimize risk.  Those who intentionally reject The Church run the greatest risk of all.

It is definitely not wise to bet your soul on “Ignorance is bliss.”  Especially if the ignorance is willful.
