Combining the power of The Lord’s Prayer with Intercessory Prayers:

As readers know, Catholic Fundamentalists always begin by taking things literally. When Jesus told us how to pray, He said “Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” Since we take His command literally, that’s how we pray.

Most of us, though we may not pray our Rosaries, Hail Mary’s, Novenas, St. Joseph’s Prayers, and other Church-approved ways to communicate with God as often as we should, do pray The Lord’s Prayer every day, if we have any sense at all. As with Novenas, we may be praying every hour.

When Catholic Fundamentalism considers that praying is asking for Programming Assistance from The Loving Programmer, we see that most Catholic prayers ask for important angels and saints to intercede for us. It’s the heavenly, spiritual version of asking someone on a board of directors to ask the CEO about getting a job for a dear friend. It helps!

When we combine the validity of saintly intercession with The Lord’s Prayer, we may consider combining it with a novena, which may start,

“O Jesus Who has said ‘Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you, through the intercession of Mary, Thy Most Holy Mother, I knock, I seek, I ask that my prayer be granted’ (insert the following:)

‘Dear St. Mary, St. Joseph, and all the Saints and Angels, please intercede for us, and ask our Heavenly Father to answer the prayer He told us to pray: ‘Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'”

This prayer does two things. First, we are praying the way He told us to pray. Secondly, we are humbly asking the incredibly powerful forces of those around Him to intercede for us. We need all the help we can get, which is only a small portion of the assistance they can provide, if we are to survive the coming onslaughts of modernists, materialists, and others bent on our destruction.

(As you know, we prefer that the readers of catholicfundamentalism.com not blab about it. But, without mentioning the source, it may be a good thing to let people who pray fervently know about combining The Lord’s Prayer with intercession-requesting Novenas to encourage The Loving Programmer to have more efforts made on the behalf of those of us who want the world to be a better place and know prayer is the best means to that end.)
