The Book of Sirach: Another “Confusion Headache” for many denominations! #52

Catholics see what a blessing it is that many Protestants still believe in Jesus and The Holy Trinity.

We learn a lot from Today’s Catholic Reading!

Many Books were removed from Bibles by those who did not want to be reminded that God can overthrow evil.  We can see that Sirach was removed because Verses 48:1-4, 9-11 remind us:  “In those days, like a fire there appeared the prophet Elijah whose words were as a flaming furnace.  Their staff of bread he shattered, in his zeal he reduced them to straits;  By the Lord’s word he shut up the heavens and three times brought down fire.”

Earthly powers removed The Book of Sirach because they did not want anyone to be encouraged “To turn back the hearts of fathers toward their sons, and to re-establish the tribes of Jacob.”  Catholics know History well enough to understand that those “tribes of Jacob”  had been founding peoples and nations throughout the world as generations of over-crowded Israel had migrated and formed new peoples for the preceding 3-4,000 years from sons of Dan (Denmark), Gad (the Gadenes of Britain). Saxons (Sons of Isaac), and many other Celts and other peoples from Nepal to Ireland.  (More on that in the book that is free to read and share at the bottom of the page)

Inventors of Protestantism were employed by earthly anti-Catholic agencies that wanted no reminders of that “new life” in the Bibles their marketing plans could not completely reject.  That’s why they removed Sirach and six other Books from their Bibles!

Amazingly, the early Protestants were allowed to keep Psalm 80: 2-3, 15-19 and the Prophecies included therein!  “Lord, make us turn to You;  let us see Your face and we shall be saved.”!  More Prophecies in that Psalm predicting Jesus include: “Take care of this vine, and protect what Your right hand has planted, The Son of Man whom You Yourself made strong… May Your help be with the man of Your right hand, with The Son of Man whom You Yourself made strong.  Then we will no more withdraw from You;  give us new life, and we will call upon Your name.”

The Holy Spirit blesses Catholics to make and live by the direct connection between “give us new life” and Catholic Communion.  That Catholic Sacrament allows the Living Power of The Father to let us receive The Body and Blood of The Son from our Catholic priests by The Miracle of Transubstantiation.

Catholics see what a Miracle it is that many Protestants still believe in Jesus and the Trinity, even as their denominations disappear in a few generations.

The Holy Work of Catholic priests and religious on earth is described in Luke 3:4-6.  “Prepare the way of The Lord, make straight His paths:  All flesh shall see the salvation of God.”  Catholic are blessed to not only “see” but also to eat and drink “the salvation of God” in the Sacrament that only Catholics most meaningfully understand:  “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”  Jesus repeated that call to Catholic Communion, which Catholics are blessed to obey, 12 times in John 6 and twice more at The Last Supper!

In Today’s Reading, Catholics are also blessed to learn who John The Baptist is in Mt. 17:9-13!  “As they were coming down from the mountain, the Disciples asked Jesus: ‘Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?’.   He said in reply, ‘Elijah will indeed come and restore all things;  but I tell you that Elihah has already come, and they did not recognize him but did to him whatever they pleased. So also will the Son of Man suffer at their hands.’  Then, the Disciples understood that He was speaking to them of John the Baptist.”
