Catholics see that we are Prophesied by Zephaniah 2:2,3:12-13. “Seek the LORD, all you humble of the earth, who have observed His law; seek justice, seek humility; perhaps you may be sheltered on the day of the LORD’s anger.”
We are among those blessed to be described, again by Zephaniah’s Prophecy, “But I will leave as a remnant in your midst a people humble and lowly who shall take refuge in the name of the LORD; the remnant of Israel.”
Today’s Psalm 146:6-10 is another Prophecy describing Catholics! “Blessed are the poor in spirit; The Kingdom of Heaven is theirs!”
Catholics “seek humility” enough to gratefully obey The Church-Creating Decree of He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies: “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
Matthew 5:1-12 tells us that He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies gave us His Prophecies and Promise: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is The Kingdom of Heaven… “Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is The Kingdom of Heaven… Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in Heaven.”
From The Prophet Zephaniah to Jesus, Catholics are told to be blessed by humbly “seeking The Kingdom of Heaven” for our immortal souls.
May those who avoid The Church to gain approval of those who praise human vanities be blessed to see that Today’s Reading is telling all to be “humble” enough to “Be Catholic!” and get “the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven”. Those “keys” include The Seven Catholic Sacraments!

Today’s Simple Rhyme: “Humble souls do well / and stay out of hell.”
