Things are falling apart.
Abortion kills millions of children every year.
Governments bankrupt their nations by printing money to buy votes.
Scientists tell grotesque lies about Imaginary Problems to get funding.
Lunacies like wind and solar power replace reliable, inexpensive nuclear and coal generators.
Drugs are destroying a generation of young people. Schools no longer teach.
Hurtful government health care replaces doctors and nurses who actually care about helping the sick and injured.
Malaria takes the lives of even more, while DDT, which had nearly erased malaria, is banned.
Borders are opened to invaders.
All problems are plastered over with lies.
Things are falling apart. Why? God has turned His Face from us. The awful slaughter of innocents has angered Him. Today’s Reading, Jer. 14: 17-22 reminds us that He has destroyed nations that offended Him.
“Let my eyes stream with tears day and night, without rest, Over the great destruction which overwhelms the virgin daughter of my people,over her incurable wound. If I walk out into the field, look! those slain by the sword; If I enter the city, look! those consumed by hunger. Even the prophet and the priest forage in a land they know not.
“Have you cast Judah off completely? Is Zion loathsome to you? Why have you struck us a blow that cannot be healed? We wait for peace, to no avail; for a time of healing, but terror comes instead. We recognize, O LORD, our wickedness, the guilt of our fathers; that we have sinned against you. For your name’s sake spurn us not, disgrace not the throne of your glory; remember your covenant with us, and break it not. Among the nations’ idols is there any that gives rain? Or can the mere heavens send showers? Is it not you alone, O LORD, our God, to whom we look? You alone have done all these things.”
Things are falling apart.
The Only Church Jesus Founded has been splintered into 40,000 schisms. We may return to His Church. Or, we may do as vanity demands, remain divided and be destroyed.
God’s wrath is upon us. He has anointed no leader to drive away the enemies of truth and love. We move to ever-greater collapse and suffering.
