One guess: There is a secret stash where political leaders stash the money they receive in bribes. They take money for passing laws that help some bribers. They also take money for passing laws to help some bribers by hurting others. And, political figures often vote for various schemes to take money from taxpayers.
They use all sorts of environmental and human rights issues as excuses for passing votes that make their employers extremely wealthy.
The money they get has to go somewhere. A handful of bankers know where it’s being hidden. If it looks as if a banker might ask for, or try to take, some of that cash for him or herself, they have to go. And, examples have to be set. Many seem to be necessary!
It’s a good lesson. We should focus our thoughts, words, and deeds on doing what helps our souls get into Heaven. These poor people may have been executed so quickly they didn’t even have time to ask God to forgive them, suffering a greater loss forever.
