All who resent, resist, and attack The Church do so because they prefer man-made idols. The Catholic Church favors some groups more than others. The Church has little respect for idols and those who make them. In return, Idol-worshipers hate The Church.

The greater the threat to an idol-based system, the more anti-Catholic rhetoric there is. The first occurrence was recorded in The Book of Acts 19: 24-29.
“For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver temples for Diana, brought no small gain to the craftsmen; Whom he calling together, with the workmen of like occupation, said: “Sirs, you know that our gain is by this trade; And you see and hear, that this Paul by persuasion hath drawn away a great multitude, not only of Ephesus, but almost of all Asia, saying: They are not gods which are made by hands.

So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at naught, but also the temple of great Diana shall be reputed for nothing; yea, and her majesty shall begin to be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worships. Having heard these things, they were full of anger, and cried out, saying: “Great is Diana of the Ephesians!”
Early Catholics caused riots and disturbances every time they disrupted idol-based economies. Today, when Pope Francis reminds us that we shouldn’t be obsessed with money and possessions, he gets the same reaction. “He has no right to criticize us!” complain worshipers of money, power, and prestige.

Some things never change. Clones of Demetrius live in every age, in every nation, among every group of idolators. Every Clone of Demetrius values some popular idol or another, running the gamut from silver statues to Global Warming, more than humbly striving to save his soul by through Jesus and The Only Church He Founded.
