All of us are tested by whether or not we give into self-indulgence. Many disagree with The Church’s teaching that says it is sinful to use artificial birth control chemicals and devices. Sinking into such self-indulgence separates man and wife from each other and both from The Only Church Jesus Founded.

Rather than “being one”, they are two, each more concerned with avoiding life than being open to it. Soon, other attractions draw them farther apart.

The Church is blamed. “If it hadn’t been for The Church being so inflexible, we’d still be married and Catholic.”

Such thinking is the result of violating The First Commandment: “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.” When we put our own desires ahead of Church doctrine, we worship self. It is best to: Despise self-indulgence.

St. Paul is clear in Galatians 5: 16-22: “If you are guided by The Spirit you will be in no danger of yielding to self-indulgence, . . . . . When self-indulgence is at work the results are obvious: fornication, gross indecency and sexual irresponsibility; idolatry and sorcery, feuds and wrangling, jealousy, bad temper and quarrels disagreements, factions, envy, drunkenness, orgies and similar things. I warn you now, as I warned you before: those who behave like this will not inherit The Kingdom of God.”

Once the separation from The Church begins, it continues. Artificial birth control leads to separation from Church, each other, divorce, broken homes and children injured by disruption.

Many who leave The Church end up in one of the 43,000 Marketing Plans that have become denominations. Salvation is more difficult as distance from The Church increases. “. . . those who behave like this will not inherit The Kingdom of God.”

We should despise self-indulgence. Self-indulgence is horribly destructive. Every sin is a form of self-indulgence. Each person must identify and control self-indulgence to be saved.
