No one wants to violate The First Commandment!   An important question:  Is there a contradiction between Protestantism and The First Commandment?

The higher-class Protestants are blessed.  They believe that Jesus is The Second Person of The Holy Trinity.  They are blessed to understand that Jesus is God.

The First Commandment is clear:  “Thou shall have no other gods before Me.”  Christians know:  we must not allow ourselves to put anything before Jesus.

Jesus was clear about the need to obey Him.  He identifies those who may get to Heaven:  “You are My friends if you obey My commands.”

He also tells us what happens to those who willfully choose to disobey Him!  John 3:36 is frighteningly clear: “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him.”

Every Protestant in the world is smart enough to know:  “I do not want ‘the wrath of God’ to rest on me!  I must obey Jesus.”

Protestants differ from Catholics in their response to obeying The Only Church-Founding Decree of Jesus:

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Catholics realize:  “Jesus did not give ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ to anyone but Peter.  I want access to the only ‘keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ that He left on earth.  I must not let anything get before obeying His Church-Founding Decree!”

Catholics conclude:  “I must be Catholic because that is the Only Church on Earth that is still led by Successors to Peter.”

Catholics strive to not let the ideas of men get before God.
