The Bible begins with the story of The First Protestant. Who was the first Protestant? Eve or the snake?

GN 3:9-15, 20 “After the man, Adam, had eaten of the tree, the LORD God called to the man and asked him, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden; but I was afraid, because I was naked, so I hid myself.”

Adam’s second mistake? He thought he could hide his willful disobedience from God!

“Then He asked, “Who told you that you were naked? You have eaten, then, from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat!”

The man replied, “The woman whom you put here with me—she gave me fruit from the tree, and so I ate it.

+

The LORD God then asked the woman, “Why did you do such a thing?”

+

The woman answered, “The serpent tricked me into it, so I ate it.”

+

Eve was smart enough to know that the serpent did “trick” her. He told her The Protestant Lie: “God will never punish you with death for disobeying Him.”

Eve did realize that she had been “tricked”.

But, she let herself be “tricked”.

+

In every age, The Profiteers of Protestantism tell the same lie!

Catholics strive to obey God! We know that when God was on earth in human form, He told us of the only way any human could “life in you”.

He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies repeated, fourteen times, “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

+

Just like the snake in the garden, The Profiteers of Protestantism repeat the words of the snake in the Garden. They tell people, “God will not punish you with death for willfully disobeying Him!”

+

Unlike Eve, Catholics are blessed.

Catholics take The Word of God very seriously. We know that if we willfully refuse to obey God, we cannot “have life in” us!
