Avoiding endless woe by becoming Catholic.

More Woe today!  Yesterday, there were two “Woe to you” passages from Jesus, telling that those who cheated and lied to both God and man were going to a place of despair, forever.  Not a pleasant thought.

Today, in Matthew 23:27-32, there is more woe in the Daily Reading.

Today, the woe, again, is promised to those who protest actual obedience to God:

Jesus said,
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites.
You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside,
but inside are full of dead men’s bones and every kind of filth.
Even so, on the outside you appear righteous,
but inside you are filled with hypocrisy and evildoing.

Today, the evil clergy to whom He refers are those in the thousands of schisms and denominations that splinter Christianity.  The “dead men’s bones” with which they are filled are the broken bodies of hundreds of millions of aborted babies.  They were sacrificed on the altars of Baal.  Their deaths can be laid at the doorways of clergy in schism.  If all were Catholic, powerful voting blocs would be built to save the unborn.  Their desire to maintain schismatic cash flows is more important than the lives of the unborn.  So, they are filled with “dead men’s bones”, both literally and figuratively.

“every kind of filth” includes the deficit spending by which Babylon provides income to its devotees.  It is always followed by the sacrifice of children.  At first, the sacrifice is symbolic, as families are driven into debt they did not incur.  Then the actual sacrifice of living children in every age begins.  It is how Babylon masks the deficit spending that accompanies corruption.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites.
You build the tombs of the prophets
and adorn the memorials of the righteous,
and you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors,
we would not have joined them in shedding the prophets’ blood.’
Thus you bear witness against yourselves
that you are the children of those who murdered the prophets;
now fill up what your ancestors measured out!”

Today, of course, we drive by huge, Protestant churches, left over from the big, mainline building booms of the early and middle 1900s.  They are huge, impressive building.  The clergy within those churches began to tolerate birth control so they could be “modern” and “relevant”.  Marketing surveys indicated that people would remain in them if they were allowed to spill their seed on the ground.   That process was Protestant-approved by most denominations by the end of WWII.  At the same time, Protestant clergy began to welcome deficit spending in the name of “fairness” and “equal opportunity”.

While the more modern Protestant clergy were leading their flocks into sin, they insisted that those before them were far more sinful than they.  “We would not have wiped out the Indians or owned slaves.  We would have been better than the Protestants who preceded us.” they insisted, even as they, the depraved Protestant clergy themselves, were using birth control chemicals and devices that killed their own, tiny children.

Can any look at the “Woe” with which the disobedient faithless are cursed and not wish to come crawling back to the Catholic Church?  How else can we avoid the eternal agony of everlasting woe?  Avoiding endless woe by becoming Catholic.  In light of this passage it is the smartest, sanest thing any soul striving for obedience sufficient for salvation can do.  It is, in fact, the hurdle that must be leaped.

Who, but the vainest fool would want to stand before God at Judgment after having knowingly supported the whitewashed tombs?
