When someone turned in a clunker for cash, the car was rendered utterly useless by destroying its engine. Those who designed the program thought they were doing something “good for the environment” by getting the clunkers off the road.
The place I work is about fifteen miles away from two larger cities with thousands of unemployed people. Without cars, they can’t get to work. Liberals could have actually helped people by giving those clunkers to people who would be grateful to use them to get to a job.
But, helping people and loving their neighbors isn’t what’s important to liberals. They prefer to destroy the possibility of employment and advancement in the name of some false idol.
