Once, a man had 2,000 demons in him. Matthew 8:28-34 and Luke 8:26-37 tell us what happened when Jesus met one demon-possessed man among the Gadarenes. Mark 5 1-20 gives the numbers.

Jesus threw many, many demons out of the mind of one man among the Gadarenes. They went into a huge herd of pigs. They drove 2,000 pigs into the sea! At a ratio of “one demon per pig”, the man had 2,000 demons in him!

2,000 demons could be in one man. There are 5,000,000,000 (five billion!) people on earth. There might be 5,000,000,000 times 2,000 demons trying to get into our minds and lead us to disobey Jesus.

That is an astonishing 10,000,000,000,000 (ten trillion!) demons.

+

We know that 1/3 of the angels were thrown out of Heaven and onto earth for choosing to be demons of Disobedience. Ten trillion is one third of 30,000,000,000,000 (thirty trillion) angels!

Does God have 20,000,000,000,000,000 (Twenty trillion) angels doing His Will?

+

Now, it gets interesting! The Bible does give us what may be a “maximum number” of 2,000 demons per person. Simple arithmetic tells us there may be 4,000 angels per person!

A Catholic Saint must be as close to God as the Gadarene man was to the devil. Does each Catholic Saint actually have 2,000 angels in his or her mind? 4,000? Is that what gives them the Power to Intercede on our behalf?

+

We each have a Guardian Angel. He may “call up reinforcements” when we ask.

Catholics also request the Great St. Michael The Archangel to help when we’re attacked by the demons of temptation.

“St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”

Who would not want twenty trillion angels helping us and our endeavors?

Protestants?
